Beware of wine/dinner/marriage scammers who use dates as a pretext to defraud customers
After long-term observation and summary, we found that wine/dinner scammers usually use the following 4-step chain scam to deceive users.
Step 1: The pretty girl includes her contact information in the first letter or the first reply, or directly asks for the man’s contact information (mobile phone number, *, or WeChat, etc.); Step 2: After the contact, the girl is immediately willing to meet up on a date, and specifies a bar or other entertainment venue (and these venues are not well-known);
Step 3: When the male member goes to the appointment, he finds that the general price of drinks or food is extremely expensive, with a one-time consumption of about 1,000 to 3,000 yuan; Step 4: This type of wine/dinner tout uses the male member's goodwill to trick him into spending money at a certain entertainment venue, and then shares the consumption with the venue to make a living;
